"Indeed, the 5H v2 is not meant for listening to music, so to further test the audio capabilities of this headset, I played a lot of Counter-Strike: Source and Half-Life 2. Contrary to my expectations, the virtual 7.1 surround sound was actually very convincing and accurate with locations. So, although the music performance of the headphones was not superb, especially with the USB soundcard, the gaming performance was, providing believable surround sound."

"The SteelSound 5H v2 USB is an optimized version of the original SteelSound 5H USB headset. I reviewed the original headset in 2005 and thought it was an excellent product. Version 2 now has an improved microphone, larger and more comfortable ear cushions, additional frame pressure so it fits securely on your head, and a few more technical improvements. "Overall though the Steelsound headphones do what they say they will do: provide an unrivalled experience in online shooters. My feeling is that if you want the ultimate setup for an online shooter you won't be able to get better than this (without spending ludicrous amounts of money)."
