SteelSeries 5H v2 FAQ:
Q: What is the diffence between the SteelSeries 5H v2 and the SteelSeries 5H v2 USB?
A: The USB soundcard. This version does not include a soundcard.
Q: What's the difference between SteelSeries 5H v2 and the other "gaming headsets" out there?
A: SteelSeries 5H v2 was actually built for gaming, featuring a custom-engineered soundscape created specifically for in-game sounds. We isolated key sound frequencies used in the most popular eSport-titles and optimized the headset to produce these sounds especially clear. If we use Counter-Strike as an example we focused on sounds like footsteps, gunfire, reloads and grenades bouncing off a wall. The result is that key gaming sounds will sound clearer and it will be easier to hear and navigate your surroundings when playing - giving you an advantage over your opponents. SteelSound 5H v2 doesn't just reproduce sound, it actually enhances critical in-game sounds, you're playing to win - right?
Q: What the difference between SteelSound 5H and SteelSeries 5H v2?
A: We screwed up on two batches of SteelSound 5H, resulting in a return rate of almost 4% (completely unacceptable). After issuing a press release and full return program, and offering affected customers a complimentary SteelSeries QcK to apologize for the inconvinience, we went back to the drawingboard and improved our headset. SteelSeries 5H v2 features numerous improvements, including a braided cord, 50% bigger ear-cushions, much improved mechanical design on contacts and sliding elements, a longer microphone boom, a new microphoneand a more ergonomic headband cushion.
