About registration
Registering a user is mandatory, when installing SteelSecurity. The registration consists of choosing a username and password, and no other personal information is required or included. The registration requires an Internet connection.
If you don't register a user, you will be granted a short grace-period in which SteelSecurity will work with basic functionality. Before the grace-period expires, you must register.
About the license key (CD-Rom)
Your license key is printed under your SteelSecurity CD. As soon as the license key has been used, your subscription to SteelSecurity is tied to the username you have registered, and not the license key. The license key can only be used once, and can be discarded after its use.
Multi-computer license
The subscription for SteelSecurity can be used on up to 3 computers in the same household or company. Should you choose to install SteelSecurity on other computers in your home, click the “I already have a SteelSecurity user" link in the registration box, and log in with the user you have already registered.
Reinstalling SteelSecurity
Should you need to re-install SteelSecurity on a computer which already has had SteelSecurity installed, simply log in with your existing username and password when prompted.
The SteelSecurity icon
When you start your computer, SteelSecurity is automatically loaded. The SteelSecurity icon in the taskbar, next to the clock, in the bottom right-hand corner of your screen, means that SteelSecurity is running and you are protected.
Displaying the the main menu
Double-click the SteelSecurity icon, located in the bottom right corner of the screen.
